Blue Zircon with Sterling Silver Water-cast Necklace
Water-casting is a method by which silver is heated to a molten state, then carefully dripped into a crock of cold water from a height of about 12 inches. When the liquid silver hits the water it instantly cools, freezing in time the very moment metal meets water. These casts are very organic looking; most look like flower petals or sea shells.
Each casting holds a small zircon bead which resembles a pearl in a sea shell. Hand knotted along the full length of pure silk jeweler’s cord are completely natural blue zircon beads.
16-inches in length.
