Blue Opal Necklace, Ombre Owyhee Blue Opal Hand knotted Station Necklace, n52
Unique with the ombre effect, this necklace is a stunner that would look great worn alone or layered. These high-end Owyhee opals are pretty, with perfectly cut facets and excellent color. The necklace fades from light opals in the back near the clasp to darker denim blue in the front. That is just gorgeous!
Owyhee Blue Opal (OH-WAH-hee) is a lovely blue form of common Opal discovered near the sacred Indian springs at Owyhee, Oregon.
Each of these gorgeous opals has been individually hand-knotted on a pure silk cord for the entire length of the necklace, 26 inches. Between each teardrop opal is a more petite roundel opal flanked on either side by a small faceted clear to white sapphire bead (corundum).
The teardrop-shaped opals vary in size slightly but average about 8 x 6 mm, the smaller roundels about 3.5 x 3mm, and the corundum about 2mm in diameter. The necklace has a solid sterling silver lobster clasp and findings.
