Will O' The Wisp Moonstone Ring
Described as an atmospheric ghost light seen by travelers at night, especially over bogs, swamps, or marshes.
Will-o'-the-wisp metaphorically refers to hope or a goal that leads one on but is seemingly impossible to grasp.
The name seems fitting for this necklace. Sterling silver and randomly cut rainbow moonstone crystals with sharp angles, each with a secret personality all its own.
Describing the elusive fire within a moonstone crystal is much like trying to explain the will o' the-wisp. At some angles, it appears to be a beautiful white crystal, nothing unusual or remarkable. Yet, one slight adjustment to the light reveals a magical glowing inner fire - a glow that captivates and enthralls. One finds themselves obsessively searching for it, again and again, rotating and turning the stone, moving it ever so slowly, until its magic lights up the crystal from within, once more.
This ring features a rainbow moonstone that has more of a haunting glow than a flashy fire. At times the glow seems very pale greenish-white, and from other angles, it looks more like a pale blue and peach color. The stone itself is lovely, with set cut facets. It is set in a fine silver bezel atop a sterling silver backplate. The band is made from wide and thick sterling silver. Fused to the band's surface are fine and sterling silver dust and a touch of 18k and 22k gold for a moonscape texture.
The ring sits on the mandrel between US size 7.5 & 8. It is 1.7mm thick and 8.7mm wide. The backplate around the gemstone is 22.5mm x 13.7mm. The moonstone sits 8.7mm above the finger.
Handmade, one of a kind.
